• Bash my toys

And I am happiest when I am out and about in Balikpapan!

• Hold my head up really well
• Squeal and laugh
• Poke my tongue out
• Suck my thumb

And I am happiest when I am looking at my mobile!

I can:

• Roll over....and over!
• Pick up and play with my toys
• Splash in the bath

And I am happiest when Daddy reads me a story!

I can:

• Get up on all fours
• Move forward...although I am not yet crawling
• Eat lots of different food...and make a mess at the same time

And I am happiest when I am practising my crawling!

I can:

• Crawl... and crawl... and crawl some more!
• Climb over the furniture
• Say 'Mama' and 'Dada'

And I am happiest when I am looking out of the window!

I can:

• Crawl...really fast now!!
• Pull myself up to stand
• Cruise from one piece of furniture to another
• Say 'Baba'

And I am happiest when I am on the swings!

I can:

• Pull my hat off my head
• Kick my legs until I get my own way
• Climb out of my high chair
• Climb up steps

And I am happiest when Mummy and Daddy chase me, and tickle my toes!

I can:

• Stand on my own (but not for long!)
• Wave
• Have a conversation - although you might not understand me

And I am happiest when I'm climbing the steps at Sydney Opera House!

I can:

• Drink from a bottle... if I really have to
• Play in the ball pond

And I am happiest when I'm saying 'ptub, ptub, ptub, ptdaa....!'

I can:

• Walk!
• Clap (when I want to)
• Slide down the slide

And I am happiest when I'm playing in the ball pond at Abacus Creche, in Southampton!

I can:

• Climb down the steps
• Walk - much better now

And I am happiest when I'm marauding with my friend Jake.

First Smile: 17th April 2002

First Sleeping-Through-The-Night: 15th June 2002

From 11.30pm until 7.00am, neither a squeak nor squeal was heard from Elizabeth!

First Rolling Over: 20th June 2002

...She's been turning onto her side for the past week, but today she finally managed to roll over! And now, she cannot be left for a minute as she wants to practice her new party trick....

First Picking up and Holding Toys: 21st June 2002

As long as you hold them close to her, Elizabeth can now pick up her favourite toys (sheep, elephant, rattle, butterfly...), which she then shakes, passes between her hands, puts in her mouth and then....drops on the floor.

First Solid food: 6th July 2002

She may not have eaten very much (a spoon full at most), but baby rice was served up on the menu today!

First Sitting up: 21st July 2002

Ok, she needs her hands to keep her balance, but Elizabeth can now sit up on her own.

First Standing up: 23rd July 2002

Our little girl is definitely on the move... with only the rails of the cot (or an obliging pair of hands) to steady her, Elizabeth can now stand up!

First On-All-Fours: 12th August 2002

Elizabeth is a very determined little girl. She has been able to lift her upper body from the floor, and go on her knees, but not at the same time....until today! She can now get onto all fours (hands and knees), but can't yet get anywhere from this position. We are counting the days until she can crawl.....

First Forward Motion: 16th August 2002

Well, she's been practising a while, and she's been able to move around a bit using her hands, knees, tummy and head, but today she passed the test - she managed to get from one end of her play tunnel to the other - in pursuit of the 'pop-links'!

First time saying 'Da-da': 25th August 2002

She doesn't know what it means, but she knows how to say 'Da da'! And she says it whenever she wants to - even if it is 4 O'clock in the morning....

First crawling: 2nd September 2002

Lock up the valuables and put up the baby gates..... Elizabeth has finally worked out how to lift up her hands, and can now crawl, allbeit very slowly!

First pulling to standing up: 23rd September 2002

Elizabeth can now get up on her feet... and usually does to express her displeasure at being in her cot. Unfortunately, she doesn't yet know how to get down....

First cruising between furniture: 19th October 2002

She is well on her way to walking now - holding on to the furniture, she can move about the room!

First tooth: 8th December 2002

Explaining why Elizabeth has not been a bundle of laughs over the last couple of days - the tell-tale white of a new tooth coming through!

First wave: 9th December 2002

With cousin Mike to thank, Elizabeth finally got the hand of waving today - and now she will wave to anyone (or anything) she likes!

First standing: 9th December 2002

It was brief - no more than a couple of seconds - but she can do it! Today, Elizabeth stood up, on her own, for the first time! (But the picture was taken in January... after she saw her friend Natasha playing with her Daddy and standing up, Elizabeth decided it was time to concentrate and practice her standing....!)

First walking: 6th February 2003

One small step for Elizabeth, and one giant leap for Elizabeth-kind.... It was brief - no more than a couple of seconds - but she can do it! By the end of the week, she was making four or five steps at a time, and after a fortnight, nothing could stop her - except the rather frequent tumbles!

First clapping: 8th February 2003

She's mastered waving... and now she can clap!! The only problem is that she gets confused - should she wave or should she clap?
